Choosing Funny Wedding Songs

Funny wedding songs can get your guests laughing and set the mood for the rest of the day.

They don't have to be laugh out loud funny; they can be ironic or simply just raise a smile. As long as the songs make you or your guests feel good then you have succeeded.

Maybe you just want to avoid the traditional entrance music and use a song that captures your sense of humour or one that is a little less obvious.

Below are some suggestions for wedding music ideas that range from slightly over-the-top to smile inducing.

  1. Another one bites the dust - by Queen – my other half threatened to use this as we left the ceremony but I talked him out of it!
  2. When I'm sixty four - by the Beatles
  3. Lets get it on - by Marvin Gaye
  4. We are family - by Sister Sledge
  5. I've had the time of my life - by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes
  6. Happiness in slavery - by Nine Inch Nails
  7. I wanna grow old with you - by Adam Sandler (from The Wedding Singer soundtrack).
  8. Achy breaky heart - by Billy Ray Cyrus
  9. Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours - by Stevie Wonder
  10. I got you babe - by Sonny and Cher
  11. It's the end of the world as we know it - by R.E.M.
  12. Why does it always rain on me - by Travis
  13. Crazy - by Patsy Cline
  14. So sick of Love songs - by Ne Yo
  15. White wedding - by Billy Idol
  16. I'm too sexy - by Right Said Fred

So when you’re planning your wedding playlist or wedding entrance music, you may decide that you want a light-hearted atmosphere. Music is a great way of achieving this, and of course you can have a mix of traditional and funny wedding songs.

A word of warning though, it is much easier to get away with a funny last song, than a funny entrance song. You also need to consider your guests. If old Aunt Betty is of a delicate constitution, Right Said Fred might have her choking on her prawn cocktail! At the end of the day it's your wedding and your choice (and only you will be able to gauge your guests reaction).
