Don't knock it; this method is very quick, simple and cheap. Plus it will leave a lot of the wedding budget left over for honeymoon or a big party for your guests. 
2. Marquee or Tent - you could still save on the venue by having a civil service or small church wedding and then have a marquee or tent in the garden. The beauty of having a tent or marquee is you can have all your friends round a day or two before and have a decorating party with a few drinks, which will get everyone in the partying mood. But beware; you will need to consider the possibility that it may be wet on the day. So you need to consider the flooring. Not just in the tent but leading into the tent and to the toilets etc.

Package Deal - This is a one stop shop method where you book the entire wedding with a venue as a package and they arrange everything, from music to flowers and photographs etc. It’s usually quite a bit cheaper, but you may have a limited choice of suppliers and dates. It does however enable you to have a cheap wedding reception that looks more expensive than it actually is. 4. Marry Abroad - with this method you can roll the wedding into the honeymoon and save money on the venue. Cruise Wedding - this also takes advantage of rolling the wedding into the honeymoon by booking a cruise wedding. Plus you can spend the rest of the honeymoon with your nearest and dearest.
